چکیده
Hypoxia, a deficiency in the levels of oxygen, is common feature most solid tumors and induces many characteristics cancer. Hypoxia associated with metastases strong resistance to radio- chemotherapy, can decrease accuracy cancer prognosis. Non-invasive imaging methods such as positron emission tomography (PET) single-photon computed (SPECT) using hypoxia-targeting radiopharmaceuticals have been used for detection therapy tumor hypoxia. Nitroimidazoles are bioreducible moieties that be selectively reduced under hypoxic conditions covalently bind intracellular macromolecules, trapped within cells tissues. Recently, there has motivation develop PET SPECT radiotracers containing nitroimidazole visualization treatment tumors. In this review, we summarize development some novel nitroimidazoles, well their physicochemical properties, vitro cellular uptake values, vivo biodistribution, PET/SPECT results.

Nuclear medicine is returning to its origin by studying more and more metabolic signals using new positron or single-photon-emitting radiopharmaceuticals. The history of nuclear medicine over the past 50 years highlights the strong link between investments in chemistry and the development of radionuclides and radiolabeled compounds. In fact, one can trace the major advances in nuclear medicine ...
متن کاملPET Radiopharmaceuticals for Imaging Integrin Expression: Tracers in Clinical Studies and Recent Developments
Noninvasive determination of integrin expression has become an interesting approach in nuclear medicine. Since the discovery of the first 18F-labeled cyclic RGD peptide as radiotracer for imaging integrin αvβ3 expression in vivo, there have been carried out enormous efforts to develop RGD peptides for PET imaging. Moreover, in recent years, additional integrins, including α5β1 and αvβ6 came int...

Nuclear cardiology has experienced exponential growth within the past four decades with converging capacity to diagnose and influence management of a variety of cardiovascular diseases. Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) with technetium-99m radiotracers or thallium-201 has dominated the field; however new hardware and software designs that opti...
متن کاملPET vs. SPECT: in the context of ongoing developments
This paper intends to compare the abilities of the two major imaging modalities in nuclear medicine imaging: Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT). The motivations are many-fold: (i) To gain a better understanding of the strengths and limitations of the two imaging modalities in the context of recent and ongoing developments in hardware ...
متن کاملRadiolabeled Cyclic RGD Peptides as Radiotracers for Imaging Tumors and Thrombosis by SPECT
The integrin family is a group of transmembrane glycoprotein comprised of 19 α- and 8 β-subunits that are expressed in 25 different α/β heterodimeric combinations on the cell surface. Integrins play critical roles in many physiological processes, including cell attachment, proliferation, bone remodeling, and wound healing. Integrins also contribute to pathological events such as thrombosis, ath...
